Weekend News from the Regale Homestead
I’m celebrating, although it’s a little late to celebrate the proper way. Wild Hunts, Blood Moon Legacy 3, is officially on its way to Siren. Yay! If my family wasn’t asleep, I’d probably raise a ruckus. Well, that’ll have to wait 😉
In the mean time, it’s time to start cracking on the next project. I’m looking forward to this one.
I think it’s a good time to give you all a little insight on the BML series. When I first came up with this idea, I intended it to be a trilogy. I also intended each installment to be novella-length. As we’re well aware, that’s not really the case.
BML 1 is the shortest of the three, closest to that novella. BML 3 is the longest, coming in about 30,000 words more than the first book (a little over 70,000 words). There’s also much more that goes on in Wild Hunts, but I can’t get into the details at the moment 🙂 I can’t wait until I can!
So, what’s the next project you ask?
Yeah, that fourth book that wasn’t suppose to be will be the next project. It’s really funny how things pan out sometimes. With each BML book I wrote, the next book would come to life. Characters would take shape, as well as some severe attitudes, and conflicts would build. The idea for the fourth book came before I even put the first word on cyber paper for Wild Hunts. The deeper I got into the story, the more vivid the next story became. There were times when I wanted to stop writing Wild Hunts and dive into book four (title of which is still in the making, though I have a very good idea what it will be). I also knew if I did that, BML 3 would’ve taken much longer to finish and I probably would’ve scrapped whatever I came up with for book four.
As excited as I am about the next story, I plan on taking a few days to let my mind rest and do a little plotting. *Cringe* I’m not a plotter by any means, but as life grows more and more chaotic, my ways of writing must change.
In addition to another BML book, I’ve already begun a novella (probably not) length story that I hope to have complete by the end of June. We’ll see how things turn out 🙂
I look forward to sharing details of Wild Hunts as I can! It’s been a fantastical, dark, dangerous, exciting, tenuous, spine-tingling, heart-stopping and heart-racing journey. Heck, who wouldn’t want two gorgeous brothers focusing all their time and attention on you?
I know I wouldn’t mind 😉
